John Kapitan is the CEO of Kapstone Medical, a company he founded in 2007 after 15 years in the medical device industry as a design engineer and regulatory affairs executive. John is an entrepreneur and expert in medical device design and commercialization.

Prior to creating Kapstone, John was a founding member of Altiva Corporation, a spinal implant company that was sold to Exactech, Inc. in 2008. His experience also includes AcroMed Corporation, DePuy AcroMed, and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

John received his BSME from Cornell University and MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management. He has designed and managed development for dozens of commercialized products, is an inventor on over 20 patents and patents pending, and has authored multiple industry articles. John enjoys spending time on his farm in Asheville, NC with his large family.

Mike has almost 30 years of operations leadership in medical device, aerospace, and automotive holding key roles in two Fortune 500 companies and as a consultant.

He has specialized in new product development and launch, resulting in dozens of profitable startups of new product lines and manufacturing facilities across the globe.

Mike, based in Charlotte, NC, holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and MBA (International Business). He enjoys spending time coaching runners and competing in races.

Justin has a been a product development professional in the medical device industry, specializing in design, quality, and regulatory.

He has worked with companies big to small, domestic and internationally. Justin has experience working with numerous developer and inventive surgeons. Justin, based in Atlanta, GA, holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

He also has a Master of Global Innovation Management degree, a joint program between Aix-Marseille University in Aix-en-Provence, France and N.C. State University in Raleigh. Additionally, Justin has completed international work or study in Metz, France; Kiel, Germany; and Hangzhou, China.

Brogan McGuire has over a decade of experience with product development in the medical device industry. Brogan obtained his background in engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where he earned a BS in biomedical engineering with a focus on orthopedic devices. He went on to design, develop, and launch medical devices at both large and small orthopedic companies before coming to Kapstone Medical.

Brogan now leads the Kapstone engineering team and oversees all engineering projects. Although a true Southern California native, Brogan is currently based in Memphis, TN with his wife and three young children.
